The Elf is Back

Back to working on my Christmas card gifts today. After that really long nap yesterday I woke up refreshed and ready to tackle my special project again. Today's letter went to Mike. I got really teary eyed recalling everything that happened with him so had to redo the whole thing because it got wet. Anyway here it is:
Dear Mike,
When you first came and took me out of the cage to give me a home, I was so afraid and confused. I hated the small house and would hide from you everytime you came near me. Sometimes I was afraid you'd take me back to the cages, sometimes I thought I was too much of a princess to live in your house. Then when I heard talk of a new baby coming I totally panicked and ran away. Freedom to be outdoors was so exciting at first, but then it got very scary because I didn't know where I was and I saw big dogs and everything was overwhelming. After hiding for awhile it started to rain. I didn't know what rain was and I got really scared and started to run. Then a man caught me and picked me up and put me in his truck. I couldn't even open my eyes I was so frightened of what was in store for me. Then when the truck stopped, you were there welcoming me back and thanking the truck man for getting me. I was never so happy to see someone in my life. You're a good man, and we could live in a shack and I'd rather live in your house than the fanciest mansion.
Thank you for everything you have done for me and making me appreciate what real love is.
Love and Kisses Forever,
Nikki.
